1988 GMC Aftermarket radio/ Cd player

Hello, where can I buy a quality aftermarket radio / CD player to replace the cassette player? I have a 88 GMC Sierra SLE.

You'll need one of the adapters, but pretty much any DIN unit will fit with the dash adapter.

Something similar to this will give you what you need and a cubby to reparable the stock radio head.

One of the best places is www.crutchfield.com. I have bought several times from them and the tech help is the best. Great instructions and if you have a problem there phone support is great. Prices are very competitive too.

I know what I am doing but for some reason my center speakers in my Suburban did not work once the new system was installed. Finally gave up and called, they pulled a schematic and guy asked me if I had seen a pink wire. Seems they missed something in the instructions but he found it after a couple of minutes.

I have the same truck as you... I did the CD/radio adapter long ago & it works fine. I had 2 JBL amps under the seat. Have a good shop wire it up if needed. I am searching for a better antenna reception.

When I installed my new head unit, it wouldn't pick up but the closest stations. The Factory unit I replaced wouldn't pick up anything that wasn't full of static. Decided it had to be the antenna but it looked fine. Once replaces I was stunned at how many station it could receive.
