whats the tube on the DBW pedal go to?

I'm stripping a 2003 yukon and Ive made it down to the small stuff. I was looking at the pedal (haven't started pulling yet) what is the tube and where does it go? And what is the cylinder looking thing on the brake pedal?

Sounds like you have the adjustable pedals. The cable goes to a small motor. Those pedals aren't the best for a swap, I would try and source a regular one.

so I can't just bypass the adjustable part of the gas pedal?

Yes, you can get by without using the adjustable feature. It's just big and clunky which makes it tougher to mount.

I also started with one of the adjustable pedals from a Tahoe. Ended up taking off the motor and cutting away the unnecessary "bridgework" and welding the pedal arm back onto the pivot

I would just get a factory pedal without the adjusters, would be a lot less work...

Lessee............ $89.89+shipping (Rockauto) vs. Free + sweat equity. Hmmm, tough choice  unless, of course a welder is not available

I haven't pulled the pedal yet I just shined a light on it and saw the tube wondering what it was. It looks like a cut-off wheel and a welder is in the pedals future

Here it is, after pulling it out I see the tube is a cable that runs to the little motor on the brake pedal
I also noticed the pedal doesn't have much travel
