73-87 Motor mounts for inline 250
1 Attachment(s)
Just swapped a 73-87 crossmember into my 62 to replace the torsion bar setup and I'm looking for the proper motor mounts to use for my inline 250. I've got the mounts that go from the crossmember to the frame. Just trying to confirm what the engine brackets look like. This is a pic I found online....I think this is what I'm looking for, correct? Also does anyone make these or am I just going to have to find someone parting out one of these old trucks?
Thanks! |

Re: 73-87 Motor mounts for inline 250
Yes, the engine bracket shown in your picture is the style you need to work with 73-87 mounts.
I've seen reproductions available for V8 applications but I don't think anyone makes them for the inline sixes. So those are probably going to be something you'll have to get from a donor truck or from someone who has done a 6 to V8 swap. The "clamshell" mounts (that go between the brackets on the frame & the brackets on the engine) are readily available from most auto parts stores and restoration parts vendors. |

Re: 73-87 Motor mounts for inline 250
These may be the motor mount-to-engine brackets for 79-84 250 six.
334609 LH, bracket, engine mount 334610 RH, bracket, engine mount I found the info here: http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=55184 Also, as I recall from my 250 six to 350 swap in my 82 C10, the motor mounts should be bolted to the lower set of holes on your mount-to-frame brackets. You will probably have to call junkyards, because I can't find any links to the above P/Ns on Google, except for the gmpartswiki site. I had a pair 3 years ago, but gave them to the guy who bought my 250 six. I bought some things from a guy on eBay who parts out these trucks. If I can find him, I'll send you the info. Edit: Just found this picture of my old engine. Bracket is different than a V8 clam shell. http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL38.../413442296.jpg |
