Local to you Parts Suppliers

We all know the big parts suppliers for our trucks - LMC, Brother's, Classic Industries, etc. But who else uses a local to you company? I pick up a lot of stuff from Tommy's Pickup Parts in Shelby, NC. He knows his stuff and keeps a nice size inventory.

I'm guessing Wes at Classic Heartbeat and GMC Paul's is the same for you guys in Washington and Indiana.

I'm just curious who else has a local source for parts.

Tommys up in Shelby, NPD in Charlotte (I use them almost exclusively for Mustang parts),
and we have Goodmark down in Atlanta. Southern Rods and Parts is just a few miles from me, but they sell mostly accessory stuff and don't keep a ton of inventory.

Still looking for a place in this Small town, Burkville VA. There's a Napa but its too expensive and never has what we need. There's a little auto shop that always has classic cars and trucks in and out all the time, I'll have to stop and talk to him. Seeing as im 60 miles from any big city

As you said, Wes up at Classic Heartbeat for me. Picked up a radiator from him on Tuesday and heading up there in a couple weeks for a wiring harness.

Dan's Classic Chevrolet is my first choice, and then Old Car Parts, Chevy Metal, and Super Chevy (No particular order). I try to stay as local as possible with Baxter Auto Parts as the first choice for generic supplies. When going farther out Classic Heartbeat has been my choice.

I'm fortunate I have Classic Parts close to the shop & LMC is close to home. I am no too far from Jim Carters either.

I hear ya on the "added expense" of NAPA. I went to them for a hard yo find part, which they COULD get, but I would've had to pay postage on it for the to get it from another store, it would be there in 7-10 business days. I don't know how they'll stay in business that way.
I like to use "Car and Truck Parts" of Orange Ca. They have a store near Charlotte NC, and I like to go in and inspect all the parts I get, which they're happy to accommodate me. :metal:

I tried Classic Muscle a few times and couldn't find what I needed, but it is still a nice place to check. There's also Dave's Truck Parts in Claremont NC that specializes in '47-'87 GM trucks. On top of that, there's a guy who has quite the stash of trucks and parts in Mooresville NC. He has a running CL ad here and has always had whatever I inquired about.

I'm lucky to have Kevin from Bowtie Truck Shop (DaBurb on the boards) in my home state, if I need something I can track him down or he'll have it to me the next day through Speedy.

There is Classic Chevy in Kings Mountain NC. He carries 67-72 truck parts 55-57 Chevy parts. If he doesn't have it he will order it and save you on shipping. He has some used parts just have to ask.

Re: Local to you Parts Suppliers

When I had a 69 C10 and a 55 Chevy sedan, I always had good luck with H&H Classic Parts in Arkansas, which is a small family run business. http://www.hhclassic.com

Had a couple experiences with them that really impressed me: First, they stopped carrying window regulators for 55-57 cars for a while because they couldn't find any that were well-made. (While other vendors kept shipping the bad ones.) Also, when I placed an on-line order for a bunch of parts for a 69 C10 and one part for a 66 C10, the owner's son called me to confirm I didn't accidentally order the 66 part.

Also, Kenny's Trucks in Oklahoma is a good to deal with, and UPS Ground shipment takes only 1 day to most places in Texas. In my experience, he carries only best-in-class parts. My 69 (now my son's) has a 16-17 year old rear bumper I got from Kenny that still has zero rust peaking through. http://www.kennystrucks.com/

Dale, I went to that store many years ago, but remembered them as a Chevelle/Camaro place. But I see where they now have truck parts. May give them a try some day, but they are probably an hour from where I live in Plano. Also, there's the 8.25% sales tax bonus!

Oh yeah, I live in Frisco, I bought a few things from them. They were the only place I could find that had the Highlander seat cover in stock, a little pricey, but got it the same day. They have everything now for the Chevy truck. If you go, talk to Nick!
