What do you think about this wheel in an 18X8 for a 72 swb 1/2 ton Chevy? (picyure didn't post last time)

kroodawg 10-23-2003 09:58 PM

I like them, just about what I'm looking for for my truck in the 18
do they have them in our lug pattern and where did you find them.

DanoDMano 10-23-2003 10:11 PM

I love them, but wouldnt 18 X 9" be even better??

:D

Bigdog257 10-23-2003 10:16 PM

Nice wheels... have that "super shark" look from 30 years ago, but with a modern twist. I was looking for precisely that type of wheel, with the 8-lug 3/4 ton my options are somewhat limited.

N2TRUX 10-24-2003 10:33 AM

It's an awesome looking wheel. I considered it for my 77 Cheyenne. I couldn't get a decent deal on Boyd billets though. Is that the "cast" version, or billet?

C10Squared 10-24-2003 12:25 PM

Yes...but in 20x10 on the rear :)

67Fleetsidedream 10-24-2003 12:25 PM

I likem....They kinda have a maltese cross look to them...

mikej71 10-24-2003 12:28 PM

Those are very nice. There is a pic of a 67 babyblue with white top that has them on it somewhere on this forum. I think in the pic area. It has the 18x8 and 20x10s. Looks great. Going to go that route since i like going crazy on turns I need the 18s up front. Keep rollin'

:burnout:

They are from the Cast Series so they are cast. For what I am building cast wheels are fine. The neat thing is that you can buy them from Discount Tire for about $287 ea for the 18 X 8. I have worked a local Discount Tire down to $260 and I am still working on him. They are also available in 20's.

That's a great price. Can you get the backspace you will need? That was another reason I went with a billet wheel. I needed them to tuck so I could roll with it aired out.

Regardless, you got my vote. I love the look....http://www.fordpower.net/forums/images/smilies/luv.gif

Thanks for clarifying. My mistake. First things to go when you get old eyesight and brains. Good thing I never had any brains!

:D

I think those are nice looking wheels.

I am told they are available with 5" backspacing which I think will be okay. I want to put an eye on 'em in person before I do anything.
