1964-1966 Dealer Accessory Bed Rails
 

After about 1963 or so GM dealers offered these bed rails as an accessory you could buy at the parts counter for any shortbed Fleetside or Stepside truck. This set came off a completely untouched 1964 Chevy pickup - see picture where I sat one of these on my own short fleetside to show how they look mounted. These are made of stainless steel tubes and have pot metal support brackets - rechrome for show. $400.00 obo + the ride

These are packaged in TWO separate cardboard carpet tubes - each being 85" to 89" inches long x 5" in diameter - carpet tubes are great for protection but heavy so each packed rail weighs 10 to 12 lbs each. So shipping is going to be around 30.00 per tube to the farthest cities (Seattle for example) away from Alabama - inquire and I'll run it for you

Yessir - I have never found a set though. If you could source some ordinary stainless steel tubing, anyone could make this set into a longbox set - mainly just need the pot metal supports - I am sure stainless tubing is still sold for one purpose or another
