WTB: 1963 factory Power brakes

1963 was a weird year and there were lots of little differences between 63's and the later 64-66's - the earliest run of 63 trucks equipped with factory power brakes had vertical booster brackets as seen in the photos below, and had a thin STEEL spacer behind them mounted to the firewall vs the 64-66 trucks having an Aluminum wedge and horizontal brackets. So, in all your plundering around local salvage yards and looking through old junk trucks around, keep an eye out for any 63's that might have one of these for me. Thanks, Steve

So the booster you have is off a 63 truck w/ vertical brackets like the ones shown? so how were you going to mount and use it with no steel spacer?

I got the booster off here from another member, it was suppose to be for a 64-66. It is the vertical style brackets, I had to order another booster from Oreilly's with the horizontal brackets that fit my 1965. I have had this 1963 style booster for about 3 years now. I need to renew my membership so I can legally offer it up for sale, but that is how I ended up with the new 1963 style and no steel spacer.

if you have a steel spacer a machine shop can make you one (or more) fairly cheap. I have had the aluminum brackets for the 64-66 made and power steering conversion brackets made and all have been affordable.

Aren't the boosters and brackets the same, just unbolt from the booster and rotate? I was thinking the adapter plate was the only real difference. But there are a lot of people smarter than me.
