Parting "Twins"!

1 Attachment(s)
Two 70 Chev 1/2T white 4spd trucks. Both very nice. Only selling major components like Engs, trans, rearends,
grills, front clips, beds, cabs, doors, TGs...no knobs, handles or little stuff.
If you are close enough for a "road trip", there is some nice pieces here.
Truck #1 is a 99,000 mile/99% rust free great running 350, AC truck, with great doors, straight bed w/side cargo box. I will gladly provide better description & prices on any item requested.

Linus0014 10-25-2003 10:09 PM

How much for the tool box door and hinge?

dinnut 10-25-2003 10:12 PM

why cant the first truck be sold as is?

PICKMUP 10-25-2003 10:13 PM

Truck #2

1 Attachment(s)
Truck #2 has a bad 292 w/4spd. Nice front clip, replaced straight OEM GM in/out grill, pin straight bed (no tank holes), nice TG, canopy, red interior: seat, belts, door panels & headliner...again prices & description gladly given on any specific questions.
Don't they look like "TWINS"?

This may give you a glimpse of the interior. Very clean, no tears in seat, shoulder harness, door panels & headliner are nicely done dark red pleated vinyl...Let's say $300 for these parts.

ScottH 10-25-2003 10:45 PM

Might be interested in front bumper depending on price plus shipping. Thanks.

Porkchop 10-25-2003 11:40 PM

How much would you want for a front bumper and outer grill?

PICKMUP 10-26-2003 01:19 AM

Tool box door & hinge off a rust free box (of course that would leave the bed worthless): $600... or you can get the it with the complele bed for the same price.
Used bumpers are not worth boxing & shipping. You can buy a new one a lot better for the same price.
"Why can't the first truck be sold as is?" Well, I guess it could, but then I would be a truck dealer, instead of a truck parts dealer...but let's say $3,500 and you can drive it home. I wouldn't pay that much for it, but if you just don't want me to part it...OK.:)
Forgot the grill question: complete assemblies (won't take 'em apart), inner & outer=$250 & $350 + boxing & shipping costs.

Linus0014 10-26-2003 01:55 AM

Instead of saying you are parting "twins", I think you should write Parts for sale and give a price. So far there have been three people asking for items from two parting trucks, but non of which you will sell or take the time to ship. Or even then change the thread title to "99% rust free trucks for sale." I'm not here to be negative and I hope you don't think I'm putting you down b/c its not my intent. I know people that buy from you and are REALLY happy, and I would buy items too but they aren't parts being parted on a "Parting Twins", parts board.

OK-Major component parts only-FS

...and sorry but "Road Trip" means most of this big stuff is only going to be available to guys in this region, who can pick it up. I just can't ship a lot of this stuff...like most of us.
You can surely understand why no one is going to sell a tool box door off a real nice bed...it would keep the bed from ever selling.

Linus0014 10-26-2003 04:26 AM

I understand about the bed, its partly b/c I've been trying to find a door for a while now. If you don't sell the bed which I think you will find a buyer, keep me on the list for the door and hinge, will you? Once again, I hope you didn't think I was wanting to stir things up.

jerry moss 10-26-2003 09:49 AM

Frank,
nice looking trucks. i don't think $3500 is out of line for that first truck if it looks as nice as the picture. i'd much rather spend 3500 for a straight original instead of 1000-1500 for a turd that'll need another 4-5 grand just to be presentable.

1970 CST Short Wide 10-26-2003 12:30 PM

Would you be willing to ship the interior parts and if so How much to 94565. Thanks
Steve

PICKMUP 10-26-2003 02:04 PM

Steve,
Sorry, but I need to have this stuff picked up. Do you know anyone coming this way?

69C10Atl 10-26-2003 02:58 PM

Does the 350 truck have power steering, if so how much for the pump bracket, pump pulley, and crank pulley shipped to 30360?

PICKMUP 10-26-2003 03:08 PM

A full PS sys: box, pump & brackets & pulleys is $150 + $50 to pack & ship it.
Sorry, no separate pieces available.

jhwkns 10-26-2003 03:08 PM

Frank ; I'm ISO a black factory steering wheel, and sunvisors. Can you help? TIA

Linus0014 10-26-2003 03:48 PM

SO far we have 6 people asking for parts from a parting trucks parts thread. But none of the items are being sold or want to ship. I bought my steering setup gearbox, pump, brackets, hoses, for 40.00 and 30.00 for shipping...Something doesn't seem right here.....:(

PICKMUP 10-26-2003 03:55 PM

Are you coming up to get that #1 truck? Better hurry!

67sss 10-26-2003 04:02 PM

SHIPPING! I don't get it, why is that people have problem with shipping stuff. Working for a freight company we see windshields, hoods, bumpers, trannys, engines, frames or whatever. If it fits into a trailer you can ship it. I think sellers just need to know that if a buyer is willing to pay the freight, it can be shipped...sorry Frank I just need to vent.......phew, I fell better now. Thanks

I think I would agree...It seems all I am doing is answering your complaints. What difference does it make if you bought something for less than I priced it for? Don't you feel like you took advantage of the guy because he didn't know what it was worth?

For the last time--I hope! I have two trucks I am selling parts from. They are offered to people who can come here and pick up. So, they are mostly for people on the West Coast that can travel (Road Trip) a little. I DON'T ship that much! That is how I have to operate---"A one-man operation, that is a half-a-man short".

There are lots of guys on here that will gladly ship little stuff. They advertise all of the time. Please contact them for that service.

I don't have a black wheel or visors left on the place. Black sells fast.

I have two sets of those red belts--extra. Nice condition, good color, not worn, slight surface rust on buckles. $70 pr shipped. I will save the set in the pics/truck for who ever buys/picks up the complete interior.

If you saw Frank's operation you would probably understand. He has enough going on that shipping could turn into a full time job. We've all probably wrestled with shipping a large item, it's a lot of work and can be costly in time as well as money. Frank was clear when he rang the dinner bell, come and get it boys. If you want it, go get it. If that don't work for you, up the ante, I'm sure he'll step up and find the item a ride for you. I just did a 2000 mile road trip for parts and I like it that way. After seeing what can happen to some of the sheet metal in a shippers hands I just prefer handling my treasures myself. Linus, if you don't like his price, don't buy. You can't expect him to split up a full system for a single part, especially after he said that in the description. Hey Frank, can I buy a wrist pin off that 350?:D

Yea.............:D :D :D

Shipping big parts is a pain. I just got through shipping 69 DZ 302 engine, 67 Camaro convertible top frame and a couple fenders. It's a lot of trouble to get stuff crated and palleted up so it can be shipped safely. After you find or buy the supplies and get things boxed up you hit them with the quote. Usually 90% of the people will back out because of shipping rates and supply costs. Either that or try and jew you down on the price. Shipping big stuff just isn't worth it in most cases.
