Disc brake kit opinions/opinions
 

I'm in the process of ordering a disc brake kit for my 69 and found two options. Which would yall recommend and if you feel like sharing why? Thanks for the advice, and if you know of a less expensive complete kit with the drop spindle let me kniw.

Were I you, I would go with a company such as McGaughy (or CPP among others) that have definite numbers on important specifications such as offset. Rather than just ordering a no-name set to save $100 in the short term. You may end up spending that sum or much, much more correcting issues that present themselves because of unforeseen issues related to installed specifications versus factory specifications.

Speaking from experience with the same type of conversion.

You might want to check Summit for your disc brake options. They have free shipping. Shipping alone can drive up the price quite a bit. Summit sells many brand name brake kits.

$900 is a bit pricey ..... I'm thinking of doing the same but finding kits from Summit much cheaper. Hard to tell, I guess it depends on the quality and where the parts are made. :chevy:

Are you sure you want to stay with the 6 lug kit? I am installing the CPP kit from summit this weekend. I believe it was right at $700 delivered. Check it out. Research, research, research!!!!! It's a big chunk of change for most of us!!!

Yeah, it'll cost a little extra, but their products and customer service is the best in the business. I bought their Springs and Gas Shocks for mine, worth every penny.
I also agree with the other guys, buying some no-name 6-lug kit off of ebay might save you a few bucks, but as the old saying goes: "you get what your pay for".
But, I guess it's like the other old saying "You can lead a man to knowledge, ya just can't make him think".

Research ECE and see what they say.
Also look at CPP and see what they say.
Most people go here to *****.
But theres lots of good reviews also.

I bout my first parts from ECE back in the late 1980's.
They are truck guys.
Not just salesmen.
Also take some time to look at the Tech articles section.
