That's not an unreasonable labor rate. Around here, the average shop rate is $100/hour so that mixed with the 100 hour quoted time, you're right there.

I'm guessing they quoted it high on purpose because they didn't have the resources to take something like that on, or they quoted it worst case scenario to account for the hiccups that show up along the way.

Did they give you an itemized list on what the quote entailed or was it a verbal quote?

depends on the seats and what has to be done to install and does this include any floor work and or removing an old fuel tank
- wire engine bay
is it rewiring a stand 230, 292 , 283 or a new LS6 engine and installing computer setup( which will mean under dash also, transmission and fuel system
I am not defending any one but it sound a little ambiguous to me to quote without specifics
