Relocated
Hi guys,
Been a while since I've posted anything but I recently moved from socal to Dallas in the Fort Worth area, my truck is still in California and I miss it but funds are low and still trying to save to get it shipped out. Well anyways the reason for the post is last week a buddy of mine sent me a pic that he was at the Pomona car swap meet, that's one thing I'm gonna misss a lot, so I'm wondering is there something like that around here in the Fort Worth area, an auto swap meet where we can go check out cars and pick up some parts and just enjoy the day around car people? Thanks in advance |
Re: Relocated
I can't help you with finding aDFW Swapmeet, but you bring up a good point.
An ongoing thread needs to be started (like the "Craigslist finds") to let everybody know about the lesser known Swap Meets around the country. |

Welcome to Texas
The Pate Swap Meet is the granddy of them all Decatur is another good one Most meets are in the spring (cooler weather) This site has a pretty good list with links and dates http://www.taillightking.com/ |
Re: Relocated
Pate is good swap meet. People from all over come to that. Just currious what part of FW are you in?

Re: Relocated
Yes, agree, a tread would be great to list swapmeets/car/truck shows. State by state.

Re: Relocated
Goodguys will have an event at Texas motor Speedway on Sept. 29-30

Re: Relocated
Agree with two of the above...Pate and Goodguys. There used to be a swap meet in Arlington but not sure any more. Welcome to Texas

Re: Relocated
Pate is probably what you want but... The GoodGuys show/swap meet is an event you should attend. Preferably by driving your truck through the gates to participate in the show ( about 45 bucks entry fee and you get 2 adult tickets to the show/meet ). Doesn't cost much more than parking and walking in and you get the bonus of driving your truck on the race track high oval at Texas Motor Speedway ( NASCAR track ) at the end of the day.
Welcome to Texas! -klb |

Re: Relocated
Thanks guys for the replies, so are pate and good guys a once a year thing? I know Pomona swapmeet was about 6 times a year about every 2 months and that was nice gave me a few chances a year to go find parts I might be needing.

Re: Relocated
go to www.swclassics.com and scroll to the bottom of the page.(Southwest classics is in Arlington). They go to quite a few swap meets in the area and post it on their web page.

Re: Relocated
There's also a 90% chance of rain in the San Antonio/Austin area this weekend so I'd pass on Giddings.
As for Dallas area swap meets, the Pate is the last weekend of April. Pickers Paradise in Crawford (west of Waco) is Sept 8-9. Goodguys is usually 2X a year, spring and fall. Next one is Sept 29-Oct 1. I have a friend in Dallas that frequently goes to Decatur (Sept 15-16) and Chickasaw (Oct 19-21) in Oklahoma. DFW swap meet in Grand Prairie (Oct 27-29). I think this is where the swap meets at the Ballpark at Arlington moved to. Enjoy getting to learn how to navigate the Metroplex! Best thing to do is check taillightking.com or oldride.com. They have swap meet info for the whole state. |
Re: Relocated
The Goodguys car show at Texas Motor Speedway will be here in September. Lots of C-10s there. Burleson has some C-10s but we are outnumbered by the Fords.Soon you will see mine. I am changing out the rearend and hope to be on the road this fall.
