69 C10 Stepside.... price?

My neighbor has a 69 C10 Stepside Heavy Halfton.... everything is there and solid for the most part, it will need a new floor pan and bed floor. It comes with the inline 6cyl. Does anyone have any idea on where I should start or what would be a good price to get it for? Thanks!

This is very subjective and depends on your area of the country and just how bad the rust is, and what people are willing to pay. My non-expert first thoughts are $1200 to $1500 if it's running, and $500 to $1000 if not. It looks like a pretty rough truck, but so was mine.

Cab corners, rockers and floor pans is the only thing that has rust on it... he said it ran when he parked it, will need a good cleaning out.

"Ran when it was parked."

You should have asked him, "didn't every vehicle run when it was parked? How else would one have parked it?"

That truck has more rust than mine did, plus has been left outside, the cab used for parts storage, and the air cleaner is missing from the carb. What creatures does it have living in the intake/carb and inside the heater box?

I can't speak as to price, I got mine for free from the original owner, my dad. :)

Its got alot going for it though. Radio delete, factory short bed, paint is patina perfection. You can figure that the eng and brakes are toast and the windshield is next. Get it running and fix it up along. As far as price, in this area its a 1500- 2000 truck.

Looks like the same truck as mine. It looks to me like it may have a newer engine or at least newer dist. It looks like a lot of work, but would make a nice truck.

I would give more than $1,000 for that. Way too much work needed.

The owner is about 80 years old and he is wanting 2,000 for it... little high I think...

What he wants is a bit high. I believe it was a municipal or a fleet vehicle judging from the "special paint and the rust mark onthe door from some sort of sign. I would let him know thatyou want to drive it and enjoy it. Remind him the money you need to put into it to make it safe and dependable. Let alone the rust problems on the body....

Whatever you do, don't call it a 'heavy half ton'. No such thing in 1969.

$1500 would be pushing it to the absolute limit for that truck.

Yeah, around a grand. Figure rebuilt motor, brakes, along with master cyl. carb, starter, alt. , You'll have 4K in it just to get it running. (most likely.) It's a project truck, not a running , drivable truck. 1K tops. Heck, there's a running 4x4 69 fleetside in my area for sale for 2K. Just sayin'.....
