K20 Exhaust over the transfer case crossmember?
Hey all, has anybody run 2.5" exhaust between the frame rail and the transfer case, up high not under it? I'm wanting to run mandrel bends before and after a straight piece of pipe that goes right through that opening beside the transfer case. Can it be done? Any pictures out there?
Thanks. |

No problem. I've done 2.5" and 3" pipe. The 3" needed to be flattened slightly to clear the T-Case.
Here's a few pics of the 2.5" system. Miles |

Thanks! Great pictures. It's the passenger side that's tricky. Are those 45 degree angles coming down from the top?

57Taskforce beat me to it - I was going to post but after seeing your exhaust I'm ashamed!

Re: K20 Exhaust over the transfer case crossmember?
i've been doing exhaust 32+ years at the same shop and i always go over the crossmember on our trucks. those pics above are exactly how i build them except for the crossover pipe, i build mine a little different.

Yep, up and over is the only way to go. And I have a picture somewhere too, but not going to bother to find that ugly thing now .

I had a couple sets of 5' pipe made to come off of full length headers with the bells welded up front, run back I'm guessing 12-16", 45 up/45 down made up so I could drive my trucks to get exhaust. They can be rotated as needed to clear the right side. Once at the shop the exhaust man can cut, bend, whatever he needs beyond the transfer case, and finish them out how I've requested. I have a picture of the bends somewhere on P-bucket I can look for
