Hello everyone.

I'm having trouble deciphering a few RPO codes on my 1980 1 ton K30.
Cab and chassis truck, ex airport fire that I've acquired.

The RPO came with a list, however no description and I would like to get a new one (or a copy) printed out in it's place and preserve the original.

Who may I get in contact with that makes copies of RPO sheets and door/vin, gvwr, tire stickers?
(That one is long gone unfortunately)

I have most of them decoded but I'd like a bit of assistance with the XUH, YUH and ZUH
As well as the bottom two.
Is like to include that the truck has NO cigar lighter and NO am/fm radio.

I found similar rpos ZUE.. 9.5x16.5 - Tubeless
And on another sheet
4001YC "special paint"

Any help would be great, please don't link me to a decoder site, been there many times.

Also, exact wording on the rpo description would be wonderful for a re-print.

GM Heritage Center generic info packet for a 1980 Chevy pickup:

That will give you the RPO noun names.

Depending on how invested you are, you can send $50 and your VIN to the Heritage Center and they will return your exact invoice for your specific truck. That will include the selling dealership, RPO content (including names) and pricing. I have attached a sample below.

Once you have your RPO content nailed you can contact site member ChipFlyer (outintheshop.com) and he can reproduce the SPID label itself.

XUH, YUH and ZUH are tire codes.

You could order different tires front to rear, so

X = front tire RPO
Y = rear tire RPO
Z = spare tire RPO

I believe what your are seeing as "SC1940" is actually "SPL 940" (abbreviation for "special") and it is a description of the paint code.

Looks like some kind of base model for fleet usage, like forestry or provincial use.

Thank you for the info.
I figured the xuh, yuh and zuh were tires. I've seen similar abbreviations such as yue and xue but not with the h. Still trying to figure out the exact size. My truck has 7.50x16.5's on it when I bought it.

The special code does make sense but wouldn't the 3 digit code be in all caps?
L as opposed to l. I suppose gm could have made a typo, I've seen it happen.

I'll check out gm hertiage. Hopefully they can give me more information.

Very, very base truck...however it only has about 16k miles on it and great bones for a project.

"UH" is a 9.50-16.5 E tubeless on/off road tire.

Something you can try for free is take your VIN into the parts department at your dealer, and they can print you off a list. I did for my 81. Some of the codes didn't have descriptions though. But you might get lucky and they'll have the descriptions you're looking for.

A couple comments about generic RPO decoders:

a) The RPO codes get reused, so if the decoder is looking for the modern usage of the code you can get messed up. For example, an LS6 today (GenIII small block) is not the same as an LS6 from 1970 (450HP big block).

b) Not all RPOs are included; more obscure but helpful RPOs are often not shown.

So it's usually better if the person can find contemporary literature which includes the RPO codes from the era in question (like the Heritage Center info package attached above).
