Wiring help for center license plate light 1958 Apache
2 Attachment(s)
New to the forum and seeking advice on wiring: 1958 Chevy Apache 31 in original condition. Moved license plate to center using oem bracket. Have 8 inch pig tail off of bracket and not sure where to tie into rear harness.
Original harness in nice condition Thanks for input. |
Re: Wiring help for center license plate light 1958 Apache
I would tie it into the tail light circuit, the easy way would be to cut and splice into the harness where it crosses from side to side at the rear

welcome to the site.
I would tie into the tail light circuit at the back where it "t"s off to go to either side, like black sheep says. cut, thread some double wall shrink tube over, bring together and do the splice connection, draw the shrink tube back over the joint and heat it up to shrink over and seal, done. bingo bango. |
Re: Wiring help for center license plate light 1958 Apache
As they said, tie into the tail light circuit after figuring out the best place to do it. Best place being where it looks like it was designed into the taillight wiring when the harness was made. The ground wire can just run to a spot where you get a good ground.
This is one spot were neatness and attention to detail saves you a lot of headaches while out on the road. |
