Question About Q-Jet
I've got a 1972 C-10 350 with a reman q-jet carb on it, i'm having some problems hooking up the new carb on it because i didnt label the vacuum lines when i took them off, now i cant remember where they go. So does anyone have a pic of the stock engine vacuum routing they could post, that would be great! Also I have looked in chilton's and i cant find what i'm looking for anywhere in there. PLease Help Me!!!!

A "Q-Jet" (Quadrajet) is a four barrel Rochester.
|
the one on the passenger side goes to the dist.vacuum advance
the big one in the front goes to the pcv the little one in the front goes to the air cleaner preheat if u got one... the threaded hole in the rear is where the booster goes what year truck and engines you got |
Its a 4 barrel carb and my truck is a 1972 c10 350
Also my carb has 2 little ones in the front (one bottom left and other is top right) 1 big one in the front (which is the pcv) 1 little one on the passenger side |
do u have a temp switch on the intake or water outlet

A: Distributor. On the back you need to hook up brakes (if power) and tranny(if automatic). The big hole in the middle that's threaded (of course there's a nipple that screws in) is where my power brake booster is hooked up. My tranny (automatic) is hooked up to a little nozzle that's up and to the passenger side. Any other items? I'd have to go take a lookie. |

I know "quad" = four. But you'd be suprised how many people use Q-Jet as a generic term for Rochester. I was just looking for clarity. |
