Another What's it Worth Thread

I'm considering going down to look at this 67.
It's about a 7 hr drive so I'd like to get some opinions on thoughts and what it is worth.
I know it is worth what someone will pay, but what should someone pay?
Thanks

$26900? Not a chance. These trucks are increasing in value and popularity, but there really isn't anything special there. I would be more in the 12-15 range if the swap was done properly, and that's a big if.

I don't know, price might be a little high, but it looks pretty clean and to make 600 reliable hp is not cheap! Should be a 10 sec. truck. I think around 20 grand would be in the ballpark, but it's hard to say without seeing the truck in person. It's not stock, it's more like a pro-touring resto-mod, so it's all about how well the mods are done, imo.

I was thinking 18 - 20K depending on condition and how well mods are done.

If you swap a $10k crate engine into a $5k truck, it doesn't make the truck worth $15k.
There are too many of these trucks out there available to pay for somebody else's parts and work.
I would keep looking

An original, driveable swb small window 67 with the body and frame in good shape would go for low 20's just about any day of the week...

So if it is indeed an original swb small window 67 in good shape, that is your starting point.. Fromm there its a matter of whether the modifications are something you put value in...

If it's in rough shape and those photos have been cherry picked, and it's a cut down long bed, and the conversion was phoned in, different story...

But if it's the kinda thing you actually want, it'd probably be tough to build it for the same money!

I would be concerned with the body since there is nothing about it in the description...

A lot of the "value" is related to WHERE you are located. A swb original (that's a moving target since not many at all are truly "original" - you'd have to define that, or give your own definition, to get everyone on the same page) running truck in average condition on the east coast is anywhere from 10-20 grand, depending how nice it is. No way are they low 20's all day long ,not around here anyway. They are just very common. There was just a 69 4x4 running truck in my area that he couldn't give away for 2K!!!! It was very rough ,but running. ( very good bed by the way) This truck you are looking at is not an original one but has had a ton of money put into it. The body though, looks like it hasn't been touched. So add the body work money to make it as nice as the drivetrain, and top out the total price at around 20-25K , and that is what this one is worth, IMO. These trucks even "cherry" do not bring big bucks. It's gotta be an all around GREAT truck to be worth 25K.

Is that a whacked out exhaust coming out of the fender? I do not see it as desirable for my tastes.
The truck looks good but what are you looking for? Do you want a sleeper (stock exterior and insane engine)? Do you want it to complete bodywork and make it look as good as it runs?
How much do you feel it is worth? Obviously, you are considering the long trip to check it out.
If you travel that far, he may drop his price down to your "Holy **** I must buy it price!" Which ends up great because you now have a truck you like and can personalize.
I try not to make large purchases on just one viewing.

I think I'll just keep looking.
I'm not convinced enough on the truck to commit to the drive.
