Radiator fan shrouds

I'm close to completing my engine swap, but I haven't yet decided what fan shroud and fan to go with.

I converted it to a dual speed single electric fan a few years back using the stock fan shroud, but I don't have the room for that setup. I'm running short of time to mess with making my own, so I was looking for something that I can either use my current fan or something that comes with fans. Wiring and relays aren't an issue.

I'm using the stock radiator and would like to use the stock mounts. I do not like the push-through plastic bolts that come with some aftermarket fans and coolers. Has anyone used this: eBay

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Thanks

I'm currently contemplating the same thing. Looking at the Old Air ( black materal like plastic: includes all the kit necessary for wiring it up too ) offering for our truck and the Champion Cooling one ( stainless ).

this one you show on E-bay isn't one I'd considered, but the price is sure interesting as the two above are like 360+ and 200+ respectively.

I've just started doing the research though and came across this post so I thought I share my thoughts.

I'm using that shroud,it's great fit.. I drilled my own holes to mount it but other than that it was easy

that's essentially the setup I was running (pictured). In the process of doing my swap, my engine moved forward, and I no longer have room to run it. Thought about trying to find a 2wd with air shroud as they are supposed to be the slimmest. Even with the narrower shroud, I think I still would have had to trim it and make a new mounting system for my fan.

I ended up going with a slightly different version of the one I posted before. It's supposedly made by champion cooling (can't attest to that), but it came with two 14" fans.

Fitment was a bit off (about 1/4" too short to reach my factory holes), but it looks like it will work with my original brass radiator, and probably with the new plastic/aluminum replacements.

I can post pictures if anyone is interested.

I've been looking around at fan and shroud information and looked up that Jeep efan that was originally around $50 or so through moparparts.com and find it's now $171 + with a list price of around $250. WOW. They've gotten expensive. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=254617

I'm done with efans anyway so back to stock with clutched fan.
As far as aftermarket small block fan shrouds go who has the better ones? One place has them for about $60 and another one has them for about $120 and up. I'm not interested in show truck restoration quality but a sturdy part that fits. I'm not paying for 50 year old NOS or original shrouds. So who bought from where and how was it?

I need a shroud that fits as well. My current shroud is cracked and partially missing. But the worst part is that there is about an inch gap all around. This gap is enough to allow the engine to overheat in traffic on a hot summer day. Why is this gap there? Is it normal? Is the shroud wrong? Are my radiator brackets and clips wrong? How do I tell if I have a standard or HD radiator? Who has the best price point shrouds?

Old Air Products makes a sweet dual fan and shroud setup for our trucks. It bolts in using the stock mounts and does a great job cooling my 454 swap. I highly recommend it.

I bought mine from ledfoot racing. It had to be modified at the bottom simce the height didn’t match my radiator. But it mounts to the factory radiator without going through the fins. I haven’t run it yet but it looks good. :)

MDFarms….As you can see by my post date it has been 9 years since making the electric fan shroud modification so i do not recall all the details. I passed my truck onto my son about 5 years ago. This modification is still holding up in the Arizona heat.
I used the link in my post as the guide to make the modification.
Stock C10 shroud, Jeep electric fan, mechanical fan removed, wired to water temperature sensor via relay.
Hope this helps

I have a champion rad with the matching shroud in my 70 c1500 and 79 burb with the spal fans. I like it.
