1960 c10 rear end swap
I found a lead on the rear end for a 73-87 that I want to throw in my truck. Can anyone whose done this swap chime in? I found some info that it's wider but most info doesn't pertain to the 60-62 cars. I'm also planning on putting the entire 73-87 front end on the car too.
Thanks! |

Re: 1960 c10 rear end swap
The Eaton HO32/33 differentials found under the '60-'62 trucks is 62" wide just as the '63-'70 truck 12 bolts. So with the '71-'87 truck differentials being 63.5" wide, you will be gaining 1.5" in width or .750" per side.
If you need a set of trailing arm mounts for this swap, let me know. |

I finally got a c10 project and it's been fun getting it road worthy. It's a 60 c10 with the stock eaton 1/2 ton. I'm looking to swap the rear end as it is old leaking and could use a better ratio for driving this old beater around. It's not bad but I never use first with the Muncie 420 transmission.
Any advice on what I should go with for easy fit installation and more readily available parts than the eaton. I've got some local junk yards that may have something and can get someone to help weld it up if necessary. Posted via Mobile Device |
