Windshield glass and gasket with chrome molding

Just went to have the new glass installed with the new rubber gasket that is new the type that uses the chrome maybe black molding, They were unable to install it without the chrome molding they said.
Where can I get the molding?

can the molding be installed after the glass and gasket is in the truck? WHAT IS SOURCE FOR THE MOLDING FOR THE GASKET???

Do you install the glass the same way with the string that I installed the rear window.

Sorry about all the questions I first tried to have it done "professionally" now it looks like I will need to do it myself. I had to trailer the truck some 100 miles to just bring it back home.

thanks for your help. Ed ke6bnl

to answer the other ?,the molding has to be in the rubber before the glass is set......69 longhorn.

Thanks for the source I sent away for there catalog and go over it. Might be better off getting the gasket without the trim vrs. $60 dollars to add to what we have. Thanks for the promp response. ED ke6bnl

I put the chrome in after the windshield and gasket was already on the truck. We couldn't make the chrome, gasket, and windshield in together. What we ended up doing was putting little pieces of wood in the chrome trim valley to widen it out. On a sunny day we put the chrome trim in the rubber. Had to use small pics to pull up the rubber to lock in the chrome. I'm sure this wasn't the correct way, but it did work.
