Experience with shipping vehicles???
 

What is the average price I should expect when shipping one of our old trucks across country. I'm looking at 1600 miles. Thanks for any information.

when i was going to get a truck shipped from missouri to texas, roughly 800 miles or so, it was going to cost ~$750 for a running truck and ~$1000 for not running. hope this helps

One of the guys here at work had a big old lincoln from the 70's shipped from Cali to upstate NY for 8 or 9 hundred Said he used Southland or some such Off the internet .

It all depends on if you want an open trailer or closed trailer. I had 2 roadsters shipped out from the mid west in enclosed trailes and it was about 1200.00 ea. I used Platinum auto transport and Blue Highways. Both took very good care of the cars.

Very good question , I have a hauler and a guy wants me to haul a car to FL for him . A friend of mine that runs a wrecker service told me to charge a buck a mile loaded ... I told the guy , and he said that was too much ...I dunno . Will keep an eye on this post , maybe I'll be able to get a better idea . An open trailer would suffice. It would be a project that needs to travel from Montana to Texas.

Prices for transportation are not only figured by milage. They are also figured by what region the load ships out of and what region it ships into. Other factors are, how far off a major interstate the load delivers to, when it has to be there, how much room the load takes on the deck, how much time the trucking company has to move it. It would be cheaper to ship something from Seattle, Wa. to Detroit, MI. than it would be to ship from lets say Kansas City, MO. to Reno, NV even though it is fewer miles. That is because once a truck gets to Reno and unloads, a majority of the time he has to dead head out to get another load. On the other hand, a truck unloads in Detroit a majority of the time he is within 50 miles or so of taking on another load, so the deadheading is kept to a minimum. There are always exceptions to the rules, but these factors plus milage is how rates are figured. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

i had my 71c10lwb shipped from california to eastern long island n.y. and it cost $1000 and i had my pinto shipped from central texas to daytona florida for $600 both on open trailers a good sourse of shippers is hemmings

Had one shipped 2 months ago, 1832 miles one way, door to door. $899.00 total cost and was great service.

Paid $1000 from GA to CA years ago on an open trailer. Got a nice scratch on the hood along the way though. Make sure you inspect the car very closely before you take delivery.

Nu2-72 forgot to mention that Aries is FULLY insured and very QUICK! I highly recomend them! They also don't mind if you put extra parts in the cab or bed as long as it is secured.

Wes has it right. Big city to big city is way cheaper than hicksville to hicksville. terminal to terminal is cheaper than door to door, but IMO i'd always go door to door. Closed trailer is about twice as much as open trailer. Do a search on the internet & they'll give you quotes & dates etc.........Zoomy

Ive done the terminal to terminal and the door to door and Aries (door to door) was more than $200 cheaper than the terminal to terminal.. Fast and insured. Cant ask for more than that..

I've used EZHauling to ship open-carrier two of my Sprints; one from New Jersey to Texas $600, and just last month, one from Massachusetts to Texas for $725 (was $100 extra because vehicle was not running).
