2002 single cab leveling question
 

Bought this truck as a work truck ... 2002 single cab stepside no level of anything and it say about 3 inch difference from front to back ...installed a set of leveling lift keys and then tightend all the way it's is an 1 inch difference now ... Is that normal or am I off on something .. Only thing I do know is driver side bushing on cross member for torsion bars is bent ...rear leaf work he looks to have a block but don't know if it is stock or after market ...will get a picture soon ..planning to run 305/55r20. Have 305/50r20 it's what's came with the truck when I bought it

The lifting keys can vary based on how worn your stock torsion bars are, even if they advertise 1-3 inches of lift. If there is a block on the back, that is not stock and likely why you can’t get it level with only keys in the front.

Post up some pictures for better answers. Also, how do the current tires fit? The ones you want are about 33” tall, current are 32”, and the stock tires were 31.6”, so not a huge difference (0.7” difference in radius from stock, 0.5” from current).

The other confounder is the wheels you’re running, as backspacing makes a difference in what fits.

I know the key slots that the bars for in where tight and not bent..I will check the bars for being straight thank you on that ...the rear leaf are on about a 2 I ch block will measure as well... Rims are a set of 20 inch gmc wheels looks good. The Tires did rub slight ... Don't think a 12.50 will fit so figuring a 305/55r20 would be the biggest I could fit ...though about a 295/60r20 would be near a 34 x11.50. Thank you to everyone who has helped and have advice btw

The bars should still be straight, but over time they are a spring and will loose some of their original spring rate and won’t be able to be cranked as high.

But you won’t be able to level it with keys if there is a 2 inch block on the back, that’s not stock. And with the keys cranked all the way up, you’re going to see faster suspension and cv shaft wear. Also, if you post some pictures it would be easier to tell what exactly is going on with your rig.

A 305/55/20 specs near the exact same dimensions as a 33x12.5r20. It all comes down to your wheel’s backspacing. A wheel with less backspacing will be more likely to rub when turned. If your wheels are stock 20” GMC wheels your backspacing should be fine, but pics would help. I personally run 255/85r16s (~33x10)on 16x6.5 w/ 4.5” backspacing on my 2004 Burb and I’m only about 1.5” higher than stock. They would’ve likely fit at stock height as well, but I wanted the mild gain in ground clearance.

I have 2008 GMC Yukon time on it 20 inch Figure a 305/55r20 will look pretty good Any suggestions

Thank you. For the help and information. Will look at both sizes the 305. And 33 I will try to get. A picture of the block what is my option for he block btw

The block is aftermarket btw. But leveled out nice it’s 1/2 inch difference from front to back. Going with stock 20” rims and 33x12.50r20 with a 1/3 inch spacer to stick them out a small amount
