1972 Big Block GMC Without Fender Emblems??

My dads buddy picked up a really nice all original 1972 GMC Sierra Grande longhorn the other week. The truck has a factory big block but does not have any engine designation badges under the marker lights on the front fenders. Has anyone seen this before? I'm positive the paint is all original, no holes on the inside of the fenders, it definitely came this way from the factory.

I don't think GMC got them. I think only Chevy

Gmc didn't have an engine size designation. Some had a V-8 or V-6 under the gmc fender emblem was it.

Cool truck! Front bumper is very stout looking.

I thought they said different things under the GMC script on the fender. Depending on the model, it could say V-eight, Sierra, Sierra Grande, Custom, etc. I've never seen an engine displacement on a GMC fender from the factory.

Good question ... I forgot that GMC didn't put engine size on the fenders :metal:

I knew that 68 and 69's did not have engine emblems, was unsure of other years and the GMC detail.
Saw a 68 396 pickup, long time ago, had an emblem, It was a car emblem.

Is the truck for sale by chance ???? That would be perfect for a 1972 napco set up I bought on ebay.
