Axel u joint

My Dana 44 axle is in need of a u joint. I measured the cap size with it in the axle and its a 1.062 and my overall length is 3.250. Is this the correct way to measure or do I need to pound it out the axle to measure? I'm having trouble finding a u joint for these measurements..

What year is it? Sounds like an early first design smaller joint 260 series I think

Looking in my book I'm coming up with a Napa 365 or a greasable 378
