Small block 400 in 70, 71, 72 pickups???
 

I think that the small block 400 came out in 1970 Impala's. If not 70's, 71's pretty sure...? :)

Was having a conversation with some friends about SB 400 in these year pickups. I always assumed that the SB 400 did NOT come in these pickups, period. The full size cars got the SB400 with a 2 Bbl carb only. THe SB400 did appear in later 70's pickups, and it did have a Quadrajet.

All the info I've seen about a 400ish cube engine in the 70-72 pickups is the 402.

So what's the truth?

No 400 small blocks in these trucks. The 402 big block was in 70-72 and badged as 400 in 2wd trucks.
