Accelerator cable bracket?

1 Attachment(s)
I searched through a lot of throttle cable bracket threads and have seen a lot of use of aftermarket style brackets. I was wondering if anyone has used a bracket off a GM car? I found this for a 69-72 Chevelle with a small block. GM #3992376

It looks like it’ll work for 72 truck with a small block. I have a manual trans so I don’t need the TV cable bracket. Anybody ever use one?

That could work as long as you have the grommet style cable attachment. It can be a trial and error deal. Try coming up with a pretty return spring setup for an Edelbrock!

Update: Just got this in the mail from Original Parts group. It will work well on a edlebrock carb. I had to file a little notch to fit around the casting on the base of the carb but the notch also acts to keep this bracket in place. In case anyone is looking to use this.

Its not an Edelbrock carb but the same set up will work. I used a Spectre spring anchor as well as a GM 1972 throttle cable bracket, it came off the factory cast iron intake for the C/10 . https://scontent-dft4-2.xx.fbcdn.net...7a&oe=5AB082FA and here one with the Carter AFB carb, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1178822656
If you run your springs toward the front of the motor they equalize the strain on the throttle shaft in the carb causing less wear and prolonging the life of the carb casting. ;)

Man I never thought about that. That is a good point. Thanks Ironangel.
