Harbor freight portable garage/paint booth
Any one used a Harbor Freight 10x17 portable garage for a paint booth? Seems like a cheap way to keep overspray from going all over your shop. I'm thinking of getting one and maybe adding a fan and some filters to it. Curious if anyone has a set up like this that could give me some tips on how well it worked.

Re: Harbor freight portable garage/paint booth
In the 80's we made a booth from plastic and a 2X4 end setup with filters on the top at one end and three box fans with cheese cloth at the bottom at the other end. Put water on the floor. Painted a few cars after we got done painting the equipment it was built for. Worked OK. Picking days that were about 75 degrees or so worked the best. Was not good in the cold.

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. I’ll post some pics back here when I get it done

I did it. I also bought a tarp from harbor freight to keep that same overspray off my driveway.
2 things I learned: 1) Its smaller than you think. 2) It got too hot in my booth and by the end of my paint session the paint was drying before it hit the panel. It kind of looked like cotton candy. |
