It mounts on the cab where the passenger manifold goes down to keep an additional layer of insulation between the carpet and manifold. There are 2 sports where it would screw in on all trucks. The big block trucks just have provisions for screws instead of the spot weld looking area.

Helps a lot, thanks. I am installing a big block in my 68 which had a six in it. Trying to replicate as much of the factory touches as possible but don't have a BB truck to study.
