What hardware used engine stand bolts?

I just built an engine stand and see the bolt sleeves used to mount the block to the stand are 3/4" ID. Meanwhile the block uses 3/8" bolts, leaving a lot of play in those sleeves. Is this a problem in your mind? Any ideas?

Either way I'll use grade 8 bolts. For what it's worth, the bolt holes in the block are 1" deep.

Thanks

No problem, grade 8 3/8 are what screw into the block. :metal:

to make it easy pull the pin and bolt the bracket to the block to get it centered and even then raise the engine up to insert the bracket into the stand and lower the whole mess slowly to the floor .

Thanks Grumps. I was mostly concerned with the play (3/8" bolts in 3/4" sleeves) but it sounds like no problem. I just pulled the distributor today and observed as much as possible, but I've reserved myself to locate top center with the build up. Looking that info. up now to get a better understanding.

You lost me on lower the engine to the floor business, but I think you mean lower the block & bracket into the stand. Unfortunately I take things awfully literal:metal:

Short have mentioned, hopefully I'm through with this nonsense this week. My son and I are going to tackle it, so I can start the build already:chevy:

Use washers under the heads of the bolts and snug them down tight. They won't move on you.

Sounds like a plan. Thank you.
