Weird options
Anybody know of any odd options that were available on these trucks? I've seen pictures of ones that came with A-Pillar spotlights, and a guy I work with told me that tow hooks were an option. What was available for these that would be considered odd?

Re: Weird options
Saw "high energy delete" on a '73 Cheyenne Super K10 I had. Originally a red/white 2-tone with air, HD shocks, cab lights, and 454/TH350.

Re: Weird options
Just in case any of the newer board members didn't get it- the Corvette comment was a joke. As Fleetside Paul said, there have been a lot of guys who claimed to have one, but not one has ever been documented. It's kind of a running joke around here.

Needless to say dealers or specialty truck outfitters (L.E., Military, etc.) could have added equipment. Go by the pdf and you'll see some interesting stuff (but no corvette engines ). |

Re: Weird options
So did the Corvette engines come with a 3/4 cam?
I joke... But my 70 C-10 came stock with "RED paint", 307, 3 on the tree, no radio, no PS, no cig lighter, no AC.... but had "BLUE interior". |

Re: Weird options
Let's not confuse factory options with GM accessories. The pillar mount spot lamp was an accessory. The tow hooks were a regular option. Not odd at all, butnot an option most got.
And example of an odd option in my mind would be like Slomotion's '68 C/20 cab & chassis with dual rear wheel option with coil rear suspension. Not odd, but adds to the uniqueness of the truck was the factory flatbed added to all that. There are rare options and there are odd options. I consider this odd to go through specially outfitting a 3/4t to have the dual wheels and a flatbed while not upgrading the rear suspension to leaf when you could just buy a 1t with heavier frame and suspension. There aren't really any options I'd consider odd (that I can think of), more like odd combos. That is where my interests lay with these trucks. |

Also, we had some weird combinations like a red truck with a blue interior near the end of the model year in '71. I asked the new car sales manager what that was about, and he said they were just working down the inventory, using what was on hand. It was just pushed to the dealer, it wasn't ordered by anyone. |

Re: Weird options
This truck always struck me as odd. I saw it at Pomona. It was claimed to be all original and it looked it.
It had the upper trim, but no lower trim. I've never seen that before. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...00/no_trim.jpg |
