Wheel size help
Need help figuring out what wheel I can run on my 69 c20. The options are 20x8 with 2.75 to 4.75 backspace, 20x9 3 to 6 inch backspace and 20x11 with 3.25 to 7.5 backspace. My truck is lowered 3.5 in front and 5.5 in rear. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Wheel size help
These trucks like zero offset rims. On an 8" front that would be 4.5" backspace. On a 9" rear that would be 5". The 11" rim would be 6" backspace, but you will have to work a ruler and make sure that will work with whatever tire you have in mind.
235 55 17 on front of my truck and 255 55 17 on rear. Zero offset 8" front and 9" rear. Stepside on my truck limits you quite a bit on rear wheel width as well as being dropped 7" with leaf spring flip. Front is 4.5" with spindles and springs. Wheels are a very personal thing, but are you married to the 20's? I think it's just too much. I think 18's are probably the sweet spot. 235 50 18 and 285 50 18 on 8 and 9" wheels respectively would be sweet. https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/ng/ser...018293/enhance |
Re: Wheel size help
The ones I want aren't available in 18. Just 20 and 22. I was thinking maybe a 20x8 in front with 4 " back spacing and if possible an 20x11 in back with 5 inch back space . I'd like the deeper look on the rear wheels. Very nice truck by the way. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Wheel size help
I am running 20x8.5 in the front with 5.25 B.S. and 20x10 with 5.5 B.S in the rear.

Once again, a good rule of thumb is zero offset. And IMO, they drive better with zero offset or less on the front as it eliminates some scrub turning. Hopefully you can find someone who has a similar setup. What size tire do you plan for the rear? That will dictate how wide a wheel you want. 275/285 would be great on 9” rim. |

Measure your own truck. Lots of info in this thread, with good videos and tech articles. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=530806 Every truck is different. Every owner is different on how they want the wheels to fit. I like my wheels tucked inside the fenders on low trucks. |
