upholestered my seat

been a long time since ive done this, like over 12-15 years, but it turned out really nice. i used the seat covers from usa1industries

the old upholstery was in nice shape, but had faded to a strange green and blue  and didn't match the black interior at all

when i took the seat apart i found what i believed to be the best seat frame i have ever seen, it looked new.....this truck is in amazing condition, as was the foam etc

enough dialogue, here's the pics

Wow, your right, your frame was in awesome shape. You did a great job on recovering your seat. That looks so much better.:metal:

Man that seat looks new!
You wrote "Seat Covers".
Does that mean the old upholstery is under the new?

thanks a ton for the compliments ya all, i couldn't be any happier with the way they turned out. Honestly, I'm surprised more people don't do this, heck, i hadn't done one in a really long time, and it only took maybe 2 hours total, counting taking the old seat out and everything.....but then again, i had zero problems or issues with rust or repair of seat frame

no, you have to take off the old and put on new, they either provide you with new hog rings and hog ring pliers, or you will have to pick some up.....isn't a hard thing to do at all, really....if your frame, tracks, and bolts aren't rusted up and foam is in good shape, this doesn't take long at all

yes, the material was very thick and they sew in 1/2" of foam lining to compensate for worn out foam.....its good stuff, it really is, i was impressed....better stuff than i used the last time many years ago

Looks great. If my situation had been different at the time of the order, I would have bought new upholstery rather than a seat cover. Doing the job is not nearly as hard as it would seem. And it looks SO much better. Good job.

I redid the seat in my 81 myself...living its whole life in a firehouse kept mine in as good a shape as yours underneath...I used all vinyl cover from lmc..pretty simple install...

I can speak for the USA1 Industries covers. They are very well made, I just did a seat for a customer and I got the cover from USA1. It was a Mahogany Tweed. I was literally in love with this seat after it was finished.

Lol, you don't know how lucky you were to have a frame that looked the way it did. My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw your frame. I wish I was ever so lucky, but NOOO, I have to sandblast it all. :waah:
And it does help having foam that's in good shape too and not having to make repairs.
