JC Whitney Shop Truck
I have seen a lot of builds by manufacturers lately; Holley, Prestone, Rislone. It seems J. Whitney has decided to capitalize on this trend. Unfortunately, they dodnt do much in the way of placement of their company name!

CHROME, DOOWOP, :kneelsuckers: CHROME, DOOWOP! :kneelsuckers:
Like in the Garfield movie where the '57 Chevy was sitting on the volcano. Man, am I old or what!? |
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
What many here may not realize is there was a time you could see this approach to "fixing up" a trucks more than performance or custom approaches by far. This truck is a time capsule with a great value. This truck needs to be bought by someone who wouldn't change a thing. I think it belongs in a museum.

I get your point Special K
I’m sure everyone over the age of 45 has memories of getting the new JcWhitney catalog in the mail Dreaming about what they could buy to glue on their car or truck To make it More Ghetto |

" That truck is the Western Auto Wizard Express! "
I've seen a few "builds" in here that come close to this style of accessorizng with every stick on piece of whatever they can find . Yank that topper offer and remove anything that's been stuck to it and have a yard sale in that trailer park , you could resell enough stuff to pay for the truck that actually looks like it's in good condition under all that glitz and glamour . :chevy: |
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
This truck was for sale at Carlisle last year ,can't remember if it was spring or fall meet..We spotted it pulling in and followed it to where it parked on the hill..I believe a dealer bought it along with a few other vehicles..not sure if it is the one who has it now for sale...I checked it out top to bottom. For the price it was for sale for I thought about it for a moment...but my other half did not see in it what I did...I like my factory trucks but growing up in the custom van era I get it......

Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
If you don't "get it"...it's a theme truck. It's just right for the right buyer. I wouldn't change a thing if it were mine, but I also wouldn't buy it. It's kind of like a more modern lowrider bomb.

Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
Too bright for me. Not enough time left in life to give it a good polish! I do care for the running boards though so the wife can get in and out without pulling every muscle in her body. I haven't been able to find any for sale, keep coming up discontinued. Anyone know of a hidden stash? Have a good day eh!
|
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
If you were closer I could hook you up with running boards like those .
|
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
Thanks for the thought. Remember that it is not me living too far from the running boards, it is them deciding to locate where they are. It is so nice here I
just don't understand it? |
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
wow... even has a shrine to Dale... Merica. :flagw:

Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
Inside Chicago J.C. Whitney was better known as JC Warschovsky [sp?]. They shortened their name to make it more ''Americanized''.
I think a J.C. Warschovsky Shop Truck would of necessity be a Longhorn fleetside, just so they could get all the letters on the bedside, if they start initials ''J-C'' on the front door, that is. |
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
I would have to let go of the topper, but would drive the wheels off that one. Great looking truck, with neat bling.
|
Re: JC Whitney Shop Truck
Some of the smaller details really set this truck apart, like the
*custom* buckin bronco chrome stickers on 3 out of 4 running lights:( yellow hood hinges:crazy: and the boat lettering decals on the firewall designating the make & model:haha::haha: Ehh ok I don't get it |
