a/c hose from condenser
 

I have been searching for a/c hoses from the condenser to the compressor. I need help to find them. I have a 73 gmc 350 4 spd granny. The only hoses that are missing are these 2 hoses. I think they are the low side and high side. Any help on where to find them would be appreciated.:gmc2:

Go to rock auto . I am usually surprised what they have . Looks to be a one piece unit on the compressor . See if this is what you are looking for .

Homemade87, i bought the same hose shown at rockauto at Auto zone. The hose or hoses are coming from the condenser. On the condenser i have two tubes that are located at the top drivers side. I believe they are 1 high side and lower side. My a/c system is factory not aftermarket. Thanks for any help.:gmc2:

IIRC, on my 75, one hose from the condenser coil(in front of the radiator) goes to the compressor(one side of the hose set in question). A second small diameter hose exits the other condenser coil connection, goes over the radiator and to the expansion valve. The other half of the compressor hose set runs from the dryer over the motor and to the compressor.

You wind up with 2 hoses, one single smaller diameter hose and a double hose set that hooks to the back of the compressor.

Heres a picture of the system for your truck . Coming off the condenser there seems to be an intermediate tube between both hoses . Is this what you are talking about . They do not show it as an available part .

homemade87, that's exactly what i am searching for the coil part between the compressor and evaporator lines. i called lcm and they could not help me. Now i have to search part yards. Thanks for your help. Will reply when i find them. 73 gmc ride. :gmc2:

I made my own and they still don't leak after a year. I bought a small kit that install's the ends and the tool came with it to crimp the ends. I'll try and look up the kit if I can.

I made my own but I was installing a Sanden (HT6?) from a 1998.

You can carefully cut through the crimp sleeves and remove the hoses then place the hard lines where they need to go and crimp on new R134a barrier hose.
If you have a 73-80ish Harrison A6 compressor you may have a muffler in the original compressor hose fitting. You'll need to get it removed and have a barbed end for fitting the hose brazed in place of it.

Hi hatzie, thanks for the info. My 73 gmc 350 rv cam granny 4spd saginaw 2500 never had air, so i am installing as many new parts that will fit from Autozone and elsewhere. My compressor is a NEW 4seasons/everco from AZone. A new hose assembly, a new accumulator , an expansion valve and a new condenser. New electric parts a/c sw, and resistor plug. New heater/ac core and fan motor. From the yard an evaporating housing, a factory a/c box with all the controls and a evaporator from a '83 chevy pkup. Also from same 83 pkup a heater a/c control assembly. The part that i need is a coil looking line that i believe connects to the evaporator and the compressor hose. Not available a LMC. You need some hard lines... Salvage is probably the ticket. Don't be afraid to look at the B-Body cars and wagons like the Caprice, Impala, Parseinne etc. The G-series vans too.

Hi hatzie, i found the missing parts today 2/13 for my 73 gmc c2500 from a 77 c10 at a bone yd. They are in good shape just needs cleaning and o rings. I also found the brackets for the compressor. Thanks to all for your help. You guys are awesome. frankyt :gmc2:
