Trying to figure out a way to tell if the truck i just bought is an official indy hauler without having original paperwork or build sheet.

Re: 1977 gmc c15
Jot down the vin # and have it run though the GM Hertigage website for an official sheet. But of course that costs $$. It's obviously a custom paint job and not the original Indy Hauler. My quess would be, it's not official, especially since they don't have the paperwork to back up that claim. But that's just my opinion. The place that has this truck, you would think would have paid the $$$ to prove it was an Official Indy Hauler.
But it's a BadAss truck either way!! |

I have never seen that one. When I think of the Indy Hauler, it was the ones the were more Red white & blue.

Re: 1977 gmc c15
Even if its a tribute truck, thats a LOT of work to lay down that pattern if its painted and buried in the clear! However, if they went through that kind of paint effort, why not do it all with script on the side, etc? If they know enough about the existance of an Indy Hauler they should know enough to do it properly. But as already stated, that truck looks pretty bad ass!
