shopping list for disc brake upgrade
 

I'm going to start a front disc brake upgrade on my 68 soon so I want to get all the parts I'll need before I start. I have a pair of 6 lug cpp rotors that I got in some horse trading, '72 spindles and calipers, and this power brake upgrade: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=720837
My shopping list is:
72 brake pads
72 ball joints, upper and lower
72 outer tie rod end
68 inner tie rod end
72 wheel bearings

I plan to borrow a ball joint press.

Is there anything else that I should get before I start tearing this apart? Thanks for any advice.

Will the CPP rotors work with factory stuff?

I'm almost finished with my conversion now so I have a more complete list. I'll post it for future reference for anyone doing this for the first time.

(2) 71-72 Spindles
(2) 71-72 Rotors
(2) 71-72 Calipers
(2) 71-72 Brake pads
(2) 71-72 Outer tie rod ends
(2) 67-70 Outer tie rod ends
(used in inner position)
(2) 69 chevelle brake hoses BH73242
(must be modified to fit bracket)
(2) Conversion tie rod center links
(or use 72 and squeeze one end down to fit smaller tie rod threads)
(can possibly use 67-70 and open one end but will have to find a way to clamp it)
I also added new power master cylinder and prop valve. This requires new brake lines to connect to the proportioning valve. If you want to use standard ¼” brake lines with standard end fittings, you need (1) Dorman 785-434 and (1) Dorman 490-536.1 brake line adapters for the proportioning valve.
I borrowed a ball joint press at Oreilly's and bought a couple pickle forks and a brake line bender at Harbor Freight. I already had all other tools needed.
