old 305 engine
 
ok i went and picked up my old 305 engine that was in my truck and tore it down within 2 hours, sure doesnt take long to tear them down but anyways as i suspected it was the 7th cylinder piston that chipped. also it didnt groove the cylinder wall or anything else. Everything that was on the engine is intact no cracks that i can tell, cylinder walls smooth no visible imperfections. ok i now have a project block(just bought an engine and already wanting to build another lol). any major things i would need to do to pump out high horsepower? btw how do u tell the difference between a hydralic cam and a roller/mechanical cam? the lifters are in a cylinder shape without rollers or anything. also i noticed i drove my truck to swap engines with about 1/2quart of oil in the engine cause thats about how much drained. any parts you need off of a old 305 that you could use ill sell. the intake needs to be cleaned of carbon deposits, ive chisled away a lot of the deposits lol. but any parts off of it id be willing to sell cheap and we can work on the shipping. ill post pics tomorrow or monday.

lifters; is this engine block worth building into something else? or should i get rid of it? id like to have a project to keep me busy and another engine built by me cant replace the satisfaction of doin it yourself ya know. what kind of block stands do ya'll recomend?
