72 1/2 ton factory hubcaps difference
whats the difference in the factory dog dish hubcaps.? I know one is aluminum and the other is stainless. but, what's the reason for two? was one for Cheyenne ? or....

72 would have chrome over brass with a blue bowtie center. (prone to cracking on the edges)
73-76 would be stainless with a yellow bowtie center. 77 and newer would be the aluminum. |

So would it be frowned upon to paint the bowtie and run 73-76 stainless caps on a 72? :frog:

I see more smiles than frowns when looking at my painted 74 caps. Seems 3/4 ton are MUCH harder to find. Let the ones on the driver side yellow since they were in almost perfect condition I couldnt bring myself to paint them.
