87 Interior Colors
 

I just bought an 87 V10 Silverado, 80,000 mile truck that is supposed to be all original, it has tan interior with the exception of the dash which is dark brown. I can't say that I have ever seen a different color dash pad than the rest of the interior, does anyone know if this is correct or not. The interior overall is very nice, dash is cracked but doesn't look like any parts have been swapped.

My 81 had the buckskin interior which was tan everywhere but had a dark brown dashboard.

That is correct. I had a 81 with tan interior that had a brown dash pad. Also, have seen several other trucks that was like that.

My 87 Suburban has the tan interior, Dark brown dashboard combo.

Can't say with 100% for '87 but if you look on the RPO codes, you might see two color codes for interior. Have seen that in later '88-91 R/V trucks but only in cognac/tan interiors.
Medium cognac and dark cognac on my current 91.

That is correct. They use a darker color on the dash because a lighter colored dash causes too much glare from the sun.

My 83 is the same color, had light brown seats, door panels, kick panels, and visors, and a dark brown dash just like the burb pic.

Its a stock color combo.

This isn't the best angle to see the dash but its all I have. Its my 86 k10 with the stock interior. Tan everything but dark brown dash.

Thanks everyone for the response, I guess with this being my least favorite interior color throughout the years I had never paid enough attention to notice!!
