68 gmc paint codes
 

Hey I have been trying to figure out how to find the original paint color on my truck and so far I haven't been able to do it l. Any info on how find the original paint color on a 68 gmc c15 welcome

Welcome
First check the spid (service parts identification decal) label inside the glovebox
Then do a search of the site with the numeric code on the label
Search function is near the top of the homepage

We could help you if you gave us something to go on. Got a picture or could you tell us what color it is? Is there a SPID (option sticker inside glovebox door)? What code #? Look under dash where it should still be original.

the original color looks like either a burnt orange or brown maybe could have been red and I'm not sure how to upload photos

Frustrating, huh? Not sure what to tell you. Hopefully someone can help. Those '67 chips are to go on for '68 in most colors. Thy look off a shade. Palamino Tan is more like a pinkish tan.

I checked the globe box and the tag is gone I'm not sure what to look for now. Is it pretty much a eyeball it kind of situation at this point?

So I've found that the vermilion 515 paint code seems to be pretty rare on trucks but its the only one that looks like my truck and I know the color on the hood and bed is original could this be the 515 vermilion color

I take it you have been trying to show pictures with no success. Vermillion is a 67/68 Chevy Truck color you GMC may have been special ordered in.

The 515 Vermillon Poly is a cool color on these trucks. I've seen it mostly on the 67s but was offered in 68. As for the GMC's SPID, i have two 68 all original GMCs that never had a SPID. Very frustrating, but if the firewall is original paint look for codes there. I've found that kind of info on both of mine.

GAc10boy I'm pretty new on here and I'm not all that sure how to send pm and upload pictures but I will check the fire wall the only unoriginal part about my truck is it has been primed up to the top of the fenders and the seat and I have the seat
