windshield wipers stop halfway down and wont go
 

Hi all,
I just bought a 79 swb on saturday, and the wipers wont work. they go up, then on the down stroke they stop in the middle, and the motor makes a loud noise as it is trying to keep going but it is stuck. I can assist the wipers the rest of the way and they work if I assist but as soon as I let go they get stuck again. i lubed them as best I could but they still will not work.
this morning the motor wouldnt turn off despite what i was doing at the switch. not sure if that is related but it happened.

do you think this is a motor issue or a linkage issue? Or maybe something else I havent considered?

It's the park circuit in the motor. Replace the motor and you should be good to go.

Ok I was thinking that would result in the arms stopping in the wrong spot when I turn them off but you’re saying that will make them stall while the motor is still working? That’s good news cause I already bought a replacement motor.. I will report back
