I think the 2004R is a direct swap.

thanks, not familiar with that, but if its a easy swap and take the torque (440)
and has overdrive, ill check it out.

Re: 67 auto trans question

2004r's are a great tranny and can be built to handle lots of horsepower, but it will not tolerate towing. Even light trailers are risky. There are plenty of threads about tranny swaps. Do a search! Going from a T350 to a 700r4/2004r isn't particularly hard but the TV cable must be dead on. There's plenty of aftermarket support. But if you haven't done it before it will take more than a weekend. Bowtie Overdrives have some good technical information and parts too.

Re: 67 auto trans question

I am doing a 200 4R conversion at his moment. Bow Tie overdrives may help with TV cable but that depends on which carb your truck has. I have an original 4G and bow tie was of no assistance unless I wanted to ship parts to them for a custom retrofit.
For the rest of the install it seems pretty straightforward, at least at this time. I believe the 700 R4 is longer than your TH350 so a driveshaft alteration is in order according to my research.
Good luck with your project.
