GMC Tailgate Band Emblem
 

Hi all, picked up a GMC tailgate band over the weekend. Needs a bit of work, but overall solid. The GMC emblem on the other hand is a disaster. The whole emblem is cracked and getting close to falling apart (the pic makes it look a better than it is). Just seeing if anyone knows where I can get another one. Checked Ebay; found one, but they want too much. Thanks

i was going to see whats close in the newer stuff and it has red reflecter in the center . other wise hard to find . way more chevrolet than gmc .

I have one on my 1981 that I’m probably not going to use. I’d have to look at it more closely to tell you the condition, but I’m pretty sure it’s better than the one you have

TKCR, that's the exact one I saw. I like it, but I can't see paying $30 for an emblem with no studs. Thanks though.

sweetk30, I've thought of using a newer emblem. I want to try and keep the stock emblems if I can though. Thanks for the idea.

Indyfab, I would appreciate it if you looked. I agree; most likely better than mine! :lol: I think someone backed into the truck the tailgate band was on because the whole emblem is cracked, and behind it the tailgate band is dented in. My band is fixable, but it needs dents taken out. If you have a GMC band in better condition than mine, I may be interested in that also. Thanks

I saw another one that was for $75, I just assumed that was the one you said was too much.

I guess I'm just kind of a cheapskate; I just can't see paying $75 for a single emblem that's used. If it was new or NOS I could probably see paying $75. Thanks

I would buy the one for 25 bucks detail it and put it on with 3M trip tape????!

NOS actually sell between $400-500 I think $25 for a good usable one is fair. Almost all of these will have broken studs. There just isn't a good way after all these years to save them.
