While it's out
What do I need to do on my 6.0l. Figure on gaskets on valve covers and oil pan, intake and exhaust gaskets. What else tends to leak on these? Rear main and cover? What about oil pump? Near as I can tell the engine has at least 133k miles on it.

Re: While it's out
I did the valve covers and bolt hole grommets, oil pan gasket, oil pump, rear main, front main, intake gaskets and o rings for injectors..and water pump as I drilled and tapped it for the stock 350 temp sender.

Re: While it's out
If you change the oil pump keep in mind it has to be shimmed....'
mine didn't have any leaks when I installed it so I didnt touch anything....but changing the easy stuff would be a good piece of mind... |

Lifters and lifter trays. Pretty cheap! What everyone else has said

Re: While it's out
I guess it depends on what you want to do. For me, I bought a cam, valve springs, oil pump, CTSV oil pan, lifters, lifter trays, head gaskets, head bolts, knock sensors, cam bolts, gaskets for everything I'm taking apart. Basically complete teardown to shortblock, leaving main and rod caps alone.
