No Spin tag/sticker

Does anybody make a repop sticker of the early 60's NoSpin tag? I'm looking for an early 'pre zip code' style, the one with a picture of the unit on it. Been looking for an original aluminum tag, but would settle for a repo sticker. Saw some old posts of ones being made, but nothing recent. Any leads would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Tom

is this similar to what your looking for?....https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...-box-ford.html

if your really set on a certain style you can have them made by a print shop if you have a picture and some measurements....I just had some repop and custom decals made for my project truck...not cheap but what can you do....

If there is enough demand and a good pic to go off of I can print chrome and get real close. Would need to know the correct size.

Thanks for all the reply's. What I really want is exactly what Jay posted ( and for a bit less than $185-wow!). The sticker that Mongo posted would be a great second choice though. Jimmy, any chance you could make something like that? Unfortunately I don't have one for a pattern, because if I did we wouldn't be having this talk. If you figured out a way I bet you could sell a lot of them
(sign me up for the first two)
Thanks to all, Tom

I bought an entire 3/4 ton 62 with a non spin rear and tag screwed on the back wall behind the seat, the whole truck was $250!

Re: No Spin tag/sticker

Since I'm assuming neither Jay or Joedoh want to part with their original tags (Heck I'd give Joe 10% of what he paid for his truck just for the tag) I'm wondering if one of you guys that are lucky enough to have an original would consider sending Jimmy a picture /measurements or whatever he needs to make a run of repos?
Looks like from what Mongo and Rock posted, the muscle car guys have them available. I bet a lot of our members would like to be able to buy the correct pre-zip KS-10 tags for our era trucks.
What do you guys think, any takers ?
Thanks, Tom

Good find Rocknrod. Veeery tempted to go for it ( and will probably kick myself later) but am going to hold out for one that looks just like what Jay has on his flatbed.
Any chance you would consider a run of these Jimmy?
Anybody else out there looking for the same thing?
Thanks, Tom

The “Warning Sticker” style may vary by model year? Have only previously seen the variety Greg posted above. Seen them in two location in cabs, above the windshield and behind the seat. Have not corolated loction to model year.

Jimmy, may be able to send you one.

Re: No Spin tag/sticker

I should be able to get real close to the one Greg posted with printing them. The metal tag really would need to be screen printed and that would get costly. The metal tags were probably pad printed originally. The red and white one I do now is listed most places as 63 to 70 C10's so I assume it is a 12 bolt decal. So on these other ones what year and what rear end are they being used with? The metal tag is on what looks to be a 63 with an Eaton rear. What info have you guys got on the chrome looking decal?
Jimmy

From what I have found, the metal tag was used up until the early 60's, when they moved from Detroit to Warren. This also appears to be when they went to a sticker. It changed again in about 64 when Zip codes came about.
It appears that the factory always put the tag or sticker behind the seat, but if the locker was dealer or aftermarket installed, then it went wherever they felt like putting it.
KS-10 was the model number that fit the Eaton 3/4 or 1 tons up until the early 70's. GM's with the Dana rear should have had a different number.
NoSpins were not offered on K trucks (at least not in 60-66) but could be installed by the dealer.
All of the above is just what I have been able to find. If anybody out there knows different, please correct me.
Jimmy, I know you do not do metal tags, and the one with a Zip code would be correct for my 65, but I have always liked the early 'Detroit 13' tag like Jay shows, so would love to have a sticker made up in that style. Any way you would consider a run like that?
Thanks to all, Tom

Raising one up from the dead!
Did anybody end up making a No Spin sticker or tag?
I'd love to find one for my '62 K10 project... upgrading it with a '62 Dana 60 in the rear, and later 8-lug 44 up front.
Not concours correct, but I'm going for a "feel" more than dead nuts accurate

Thanks for reviving this old thread that I forgot I started way back in 2018. Never heard about anybody reproducing those tags, but my wife wound up getting me a used one off eBay that following Christmas. I mounted it on my glovebox door and it makes me smile every time I look over at it.

Ya, mine’s certainly not concourse correct either, but it’s all era correct and exactly how I would have ordered it if I had had the run of the Chevy factory in 65, so it makes me happy! Even though it’s a rust bucket, it gets a lot of thumbs up, so I guess others think it’s cool too.

Good luck finding a tag and have fun with your project!
Tom

I got mine from LockDoc - super quality repop decals and great fellow to work with.

I'd share a picture if I hadn't just moved 1600 miles and have no idea where anything is

worth a shout out to see if he's got any left.

his thread - https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...l+reproduction

there's some other good info in that thread as well.

good luck!

Since starting this thread I’ve found at least three different versions of the NoSpin tag. The earliest shows a Detroit address with no zip code and I think was used until about 1963. The other two show a Warren address, one a street address and the other a PO Box. Some with street address have a zip code and some don’t (see post #3). The one that Loc Doc prints up have the P.O. Box and zip code, so that’s probably the latest example. Also not sure when they switched from metal tag to stickers.

These were used for many applications, including muscle cars, but as far as 60’s era Chevy trucks, they were only available on 3/4 or 1 ton 2wd trucks. 1/2 ton got a clutch type posi with a completely different paper tag behind the seat. The model KS-10 only fits an HO 52 or 72 Eaton type rear end, which I’m pretty sure was discontinued in 72.

In 1986 I bought what I was told was one of the very last brand new KS-10 NoSpin units, which had a tag on it with a build date of May 6 1986. I originally installed it in an HO 52, and later put it in an HO 72 4.10 center section I found (and still use).

No tag came with the unit I bought in 86, but the tag in the attached pictures with no model number stamp is the one my wife found for me several years ago.

Would love to hear any other information anyone else has on these tags, or corrections of what I’ve said here.
Thanks
Tom
