I had my vent windows re-sealed and i am dissapointed in how they turned out.The weatherstripping was supposed to be Precision brand (which I paid more for). The 2 piece Precision re-seals came in a clear package not green and clear like I have always seen Precision stuff come in.There is a gap under each pivot point on the outside.Do you think this is installer fault or a repro. part fault?I wont say where they came from but I emailed them and they re assured me they were Precision.Dissapointed here in north AL.

Was it Precision?

I’m curious to know how this turns out myself-I have both a regular and a factory tinted glass pair of NOS vent assemblies and while I’m apprehensive about using a fairly valuable set of vents, I don’t want to use something that is inferior aftermarket/wise.

I sent mine in to Precision to be rebuilt. Driver side is pretty good, but passenger side leaks/whistles... disappointed after the money spent to have them professionally done.
Wish I would've tried the new assemblies that LMC sells instead

I rebuilt mine in March with kit ordered on Ebay. I know they aren't perfect, but they are not bad. No noise or leaks found since.

I just did mine with precision seals.

They were a BEAR to put in. I can't tell you how many four-lettered adjectives were hanging over my house; but it's was enough to block out the sun!!!

Once in they are good, only a few wrinkles that will come out once the sun hits them.

As far as wind noise or leaks, I don't know yet because I haven't driven it more than around the block. I have about 2" of exhaust and a set of tires like the ones in "A Christmas Story".

(My old man's spare tires were only actually tires in the academic sense. They were round and had once been made of rubber. )

If I had to do it again, I would still install myself but block and entire day out of my schedule to get it done.

That's funny!! They are a BEAR. I attempted mine, but very quickly decided against it. I could see where this would go, and it wouldn't be pretty.

I ended up sending mine to Precision to be rebuilt. I'm very happy with the results. They look way better than I know I could have done. No more wind noises!!!
Since then, I found & installed a set a NOS latches.
