Fitting Bed Wood
I'm needing to trial fit the wood for my bed in order to check the fitment of the sides etc.
Unfortunately when I got my truck it came with a bit of old ply in the back, literally in the back as it wasn't fixed down to anything. Could some kind sole post up some pictures of a step side's bed just so I can see the layout. The closest C10 to me is over 100 miles away, so I cant just pop round for a look see! |

Re: Fitting Bed Wood
Been looking through the FAQ section to see if there is an answer to another question but I cant find one.
When I bought the new wood for my bed I bought a full set of polished stainless strips including the 2 side angled strips. In truth Id forgotten Id bought them until I was trial fitting the bed. That's when I realised that the bed sides already have these welded on. Can anyone who has fitted the stainless angles before tell me, did you have to remove the welded steel strips first and if so how did you attached the stainless strips to the bed sides? |

Cheers guy's for the pictures.
One thing I notice right away is that both your beds seem to sit between 1" & 2" higher than mine. Judging by the front panel U can see at least 1" of the pressed section of the cab back? Are either of your beds raised at all? |
Re: Fitting Bed Wood
mine is not raised
The angle strips on the side of the inside of the bed should not be sitting on the cross braces. There should be about a 3/4 inch space between those angles and the cross braces that run vertical under the bed there should be wood in between them. You can kind of see what I am talking about in this photo. If there is not enough wood there the bed will be to low |
