I see a lot of threads about heating and a lot of opinions. What I want to know is who sells the best stock look non aluminum three row radiator? For a 1970 c10 Please reply!

Re: running hot
What size engine is it for? I have no experience, but I've heard good things about the Spectra radiator on Rock Auto.

Just get a 4 core, same price.

Re: running hot
Champion radiators have a good rep on the board for being a decent radiator for a decent price. Not exactly stock looking tho. What problems are you having? Temps?

Re: running hot
2 left heads doesn’t make sense to me. From factory, temp gauge sending unit is on driver’s side towards the front of the truck, or left side of head. Passenger side has temp light sending unit towards the rear of the truck, or left side of head once again. So does that mean factory used 2 right side heads on our trucks? I’m guessing you have heads from a different application then? Running the numbers on the heads will tell you for sure.

Re: running hot
The sbc engines have only heads (there is no left/right distinction)
That said the only differences might be if the older heads don't have all the accessory bolt holes in the head ends like the newer ones do. |
Re: running hot
lol sbc n bbc heads are same

If I were you I would get rid of that flex fan ASAP. |
Re: running hot
If it's running hot put in a 4 row. Make sure the shroud fits tight to the rad and seals to it. Make sure the fan is about halfway into the shroud. Run a good clutch fan or an electric. Flex fans like to come apart. Fan performance is optimal with about half the blade in. With all that and a good t-stat it shouldn't overheat in any weather period.
