Hey Guys So This Is My First Time Doing Drakes On aChevy. Does This Setup Look Correct and Where Does This Clip Go??

Also ShouldI Put Anti Squeek/Chatter Lube On The Pads? They Have a Hard Rubberish Material on The Back. Thank You

Re: Brake Pad Clip?

It's a squeeler. Clips onto the brake pad with the prongs facing the rotor. When the pads wear down, the prongs scrape the rotor causing the wife great agony.

Re: Brake Pad Clip?

I'd put some synthetic brake grease on those pins and the area where the pads ride on the caliper.

I would skip the antisqueal on the back of the pads.

Re: Brake Pad Clip?

it also wedges inside the piston so that when the piston retracts it pulls the pad away with it. not alot but enough.

The clip in your hand goes on the inboard pad, so that when installed the clip pushes the pad up into the caliper. The clip holds the pad onto the caliper piston and preloads it to the outer surface of the caliper.

Yup. And it looks like you have some sort of aftermarket anti-squeak shim installed, so you shouldn't need anything else.
