Steering Column length

What length steering column should I be using? I see alot of 30", 32", 33", 35" columns for sale which are "direct fit"... What was the factory length?

I'm 6'4" and will be using a 90's type 60/40 bench.. or at least something I know will give me the legroom I need. What would be a reasonable length for a tilt column?

Felt like the stock column was just a little to close by the way but that was with the stock seat.

Re: Steering Column length

I ordered the IDIDIT column so I'll measure it if it ever arrives. The IDIDIT is the only aftermarket I found that 'fits' like stock into the dash bezel by having a formed sheetmetal ring. Many of the others have a tapered cone that isn't factory appearing.

I will shorten it to gain some extra clearance, but this won't be for a little while when I do an interior mock up.

I'm interested in what others say though.
